We travelled by Greyhound bus from Portland, Oregon over two days, with an overnight stop in Medford, Oregon.
The scenery was beautiful from high mountain passes (3037ft), high trees and volcanoes down to the flat hot plains in northern California.
A bus change in Sacramento let us see rear paddle river steamers before crossing the mountains to come to a vista of the San Francisco bay region, then over a succession of bridges to downtown Frisco
